She has served as a CIO and executive advisor and enjoys mentoring undergraduate students as they explore career paths, internships, and early professional growth. Kate’s mentoring style is practical, supportive, and focused on helping students discover their strengths and how they can match those with future opportunities.
Prior Experience
I have been a formal mentor in several different organizations where I was a leader in a 1x1 capacity.
I have served as a peer mentor and informal mentor for to many of my team members.
I have also been a mentor for the Tech XL Next Gen Leader program and been on mentoring panel discussions with high school and college groups.
Why Mentor?
I wish I had had the opportunity to have a mentor early in my career, let alone in my undergraduate years. I can only imagine how much more effective I would have been earlier on.
My greatest satisfaction as a leader is shaping my team members; helping them to discover opportunities based on the strengths they exhibit and how that can lead them to success in a career path they never even thought of. Giving that same attention to those in an undergraduate program would be phenomenal and I would get that same level of satisfaction while learning how that next generation approaches challenges to evolve my own learning.
