Bio
I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Cal State University San Marcos in 2012. I started working in an outsourced accounting firm early in my professional career that provided invaluable experience with clients of many different industries, entity types, and dynamics. I got my CPA license in 2017 and leveraged that in my work. I moved to the East Coast in 2019 and have been working with heavy civil construction companies since. I am a member of Construction Financial Management Association which has been a great network of professionals to work with, giving and receiving support when helpful. I love teaching and learning and feel that this could be a good way to achieve both - teaching others about what they can expect, and learning what the profession has in store with future professionals entering it.
Prior Experience
I have managed and mentored accounting staff for over 7 years in settings including an accounting firm and family companies. I have also mentored a family member regarding a financial career.
Why Mentor?
I feel that I have broad experience working across different industries and with different types of people that have molded a unique perspective of the field. I also feel that I'm still early enough in my career to have a relevant closeness to someone who is early in or starting to consider a career in accounting.
