Bio

I am a technology executive with more than 30 years of experience leading enterprise IT, project portfolio management, and business application support functions across financial services and insurance organizations. I currently serve as Vice President of the Project Management Office, IT Support Strategy, and Business Application Support at Amwins, where I work closely with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with business strategy.

My career began in application development and progressed through increasingly senior leadership roles at Bank of America and Amwins, where I have led large, cross-functional teams, overseen enterprise transformation initiatives, and helped modernize IT service delivery models. Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to manage global programs, improve operational performance, and serve as a strategic advisor to C-suite leaders.

What makes me a strong mentor is a combination of real-world leadership experience, a practical understanding of how careers evolve over time, and a genuine interest in helping others grow. I’ve navigated career pivots, organizational change, and leadership transitions, and I enjoy helping others think through their own path — whether that’s choosing a first role, developing leadership skills, or understanding how to build credibility early in their careers.

Prior Experience

Throughout my career, mentoring and developing others has been one of the most rewarding aspects of leadership. I currently provide executive oversight to directors, senior program managers, and process leaders, helping them strengthen strategic thinking, stakeholder communication, and operational execution. I’ve worked closely with emerging leaders to refine their decision-making skills, improve executive presence, and build confidence in high-visibility settings.

Earlier in my career at Bank of America, I led global technology and compliance teams where coaching was critical to performance. I mentored managers transitioning into leadership roles, helped technical professionals expand into business-facing positions, and supported team members pursuing career advancement across functions.

In addition to formal leadership roles, I’ve informally mentored colleagues throughout my career — offering guidance on career navigation, work-life balance, managing organizational politics, and building long-term professional resilience. My approach to mentoring is structured but conversational. I focus on listening first, understanding individual goals, and helping mentees build both practical skills and long-term perspective.

Why Mentor?

I am motivated to mentor undergraduate students because I remember how uncertain the early stages of a career can feel. Many students have strong academic foundations but limited exposure to how organizations truly operate, how careers evolve, and how leadership opportunities develop over time.

Having built a career that spans technical roles, compliance leadership, and executive IT strategy, I believe I can provide practical insights that help students better understand the connection between education and real-world application. I want to help them think long-term — not just about their first job, but about how they develop skills, credibility, and adaptability over the course of decades.

I’m particularly passionate about helping students build confidence, understand professional expectations, and learn how to navigate complexity with integrity. Mentorship is one of the most effective ways to invest in the next generation of leaders, and I view this opportunity as both a responsibility and a privilege.
