Bio

I have spent 36 years with Coca‑Cola Consolidated, beginning in Internal Audit (3 years), progressing through Financial Accounting (5 years), and spending the past 28 years in Information Technology. I currently serve as Senior Vice President of Information Technology for Coca‑Cola Consolidated, Inc., the largest Coca‑Cola bottler in the United States, and plan to retire in July 2026.

For the past 11 years, I have held full strategic and operational responsibility for the development, modernization, and operation of the company’s IT platforms and solutions that support our franchise territory. Our team enables more than 17,000 teammates across 14 states and the District of Columbia.
Across my 28 years in technology, I began in individual contributor roles—including Business Analyst and Project Manager—before transitioning into leadership positions focused primarily on Application Development. After serving as Director of Strategy, I was honored to step into the role of Chief Information Officer for our Enterprise Technology organization. Throughout this journey, I have led high‑performing teams, delivered mission‑critical projects, modernized our technology landscape, and guided numerous strategic initiatives, including mobile‑first transformation, cloud migration, automation, and innovation programs. I also led the IT work associated with our acquisition of The Coca‑Cola Company’s bottler territory—which nearly tripled the size of our business.

I was honored to receive the Charlotte CIO of the Year ORBIE Award (Enterprise Category) in 2020 and the ORBIE Leadership Award in 2024. I currently serve as Board Chair for Apparo, an IT nonprofit supporting the Charlotte community, and recently completed three years as District Committee Chair and Executive Board Member for Mecklenburg County Scouting America (formerly the Boy Scouts of America).

What makes me a great mentor - I have a deep passion for building strong teams and helping individuals grow into their full potential. With a background in process management—and a genuine curiosity for how businesses operate and what outcomes our partners are trying to achieve—I naturally lead through listening, asking open‑ended questions, and engaging others in thoughtful problem‑solving. I believe understanding, building, and nurturing relationships are key to most all success.

Coaching and mentoring have always come naturally to me. I grew up professionally at Coke Consolidated, where many leaders invested in me by sharing their experiences, offering guidance, and modeling what effective leadership looks like. I’ve carried that forward throughout my career.

Prior Experience

Through InspireCIO, a national organization of CIO and CISO leaders, I have served as a CIO Coach and have been asked to continue in that role after retirement. Internally at Coke, I regularly mentor two to three colleagues at any given time—many outside of IT—who seek career guidance and perspective. I am also currently mentoring two senior IT leaders at other companies in the Charlotte area.

Why Mentor?

I have more time now for me to give back (with my pending retirement & transition plan underway). Plus - I do understand the increasing need and demand for folks with experiences to help invest share and impart those work experiences to the rising generation.
