Bio
Distinguished C-level Finance and Accounting executive with a 25+ year record of strategic positions within global, public Construction, Manufacturing, and Engineering companies, with a focus on building and optimizing agile, dynamic, and high performing F&A teams and organizations.
As the Chief Accounting Officer for a NYSE company, I oversaw the doubling in size of a global company through strategic acquisition, and managed the synergies created as a result of the merger.
I am a Certified Public Accountant (Active; Texas), Certified Management Accountant (Active), and a proud member of IMA. I live north of Atlanta, Georgia, and look forward to mentoring the next stars in this important field.
Prior Experience
Throughout my career, but specifically within the last 10 years of my Finance & Accounting career, I led global teams across all facets of the F&A and the organization. During that tenure, I actively mentored individuals both within and outside of my sphere teaching best practices, workflow optimization, tips and tricks, and built and shaped new leaders from within the ranks. I was a trusted ally and colleague within the entire organization from the CEO to the staff accountant and financial analyst.
Why Mentor?
While I had a lengthy and prosperous career in Finance & Accounting, the field is getting smaller. Some enter the space not knowing anything about what the day-to-day looks and feels like. They don’t understand the demands on time and schedule during certain periods, and they need guidance and recommendations on how to work with people, how to step up to ask questions, how to be inquisitive and curious, how to work and interact with leaders, and the list goes on. I was unusual in that I didn’t have fear in doing my job. People need to also understand that the job they got hired to do doesn’t mean they are stuck. Do the job, ask for more or varied work, dig into the organization and meet people / be known, raise your hand when opportunities arise, and be an idea person. I can help light those candles.
